Guest Bedroom Makeover

Aaah, another room in the new place to cross off my to-do list. I showed you guys last week my mood board for the Guest Bedroom, but today I’m giving you the full makeover. Let’s take a tour… guest bedroom makeover navy and orangeI wanted the feel for this room to be a little more masculine (navy with pops of orange), but still a little feminine in the textiles and accessories.

I used the same fabric on the cornice as the fireplace mantel headboard in the bedroom. diy window cornice bedroom makeoverThe chairs? Well I cheaped out here. While I would have loved some fabulous wingback wicker chairs, I just couldn’t afford it… especially for a guest bedroom. So I purchased these two chairs from Lowe’s for $60 each. guest bedroom navy orange makeoverThe orange pillows are from HomeGoods on clearance and the little side table I purchased last year from Red Posie, a local antique store in town. And say hello to my fabulous new blue alarm clock. guest bedroom navy orange makeoverThe other side of the room features an old dresser that belonged to my husband as a child. I just couldn’t bring myself to paint this so here it is in all of its chipped glory. guest bedroom airplane bedroomAbove the dresser sits 4 navy blue and white sketch airplane posters. I couldn’t find something I wanted so I created these myself, benefits of being a graphic designer by trade. I printed them at Walgreens and purchased some white frames from Michael’s. sketch airplane navy printables airplane bedroom postersNext to the bed sits a little nightstand. It’s actually a telephone table I refurbished in our old house. It was sitting in the garage collecting dust so I decided to update it by painting the drawers a dark blue.

Love this!!! I recently did a guest bedroom makeover too, well mine is still sort of in the works, but it is navy blue also and I am in need of a few more wall items. Can’t wait to see if the airplane prints will work!!
