Fall is my absolute favorite time of the year for fashion. But while I love the clothes, I hate the price tag that goes with it. Every new season with a growing kid means I have to start from scratch with a wardrobe.
But I’m about to let you guys in on some tips for saving on clothes this Fall,
whether it’s for Back to School, family photos, or just everyday use!
1. Layer up.
I always stretch my daughter’s dresses into the cooler seasons by adding leggings, cardigans and jean jackets. Even sleeveless dresses can sometimes double as a jumper with a cute turtleneck underneath! And for boys… one of my favorite looks is a clean white long-sleeved shirt under a polo. Seriously adorable for any age.
2. Think in color palettes.
This is the best way to take your mixing and matching to new levels. Think of the possibilities with just 3 plain pairs of pants, 5 shirts, and 3 cardigans. As long as the colors harmonize, you can mix and match everyday!
Even kids look great in a pair of jeans with a clean solid shirt. But it’s really what you can do with accessories to brighten up an outfit. Think of a great pair of cowboy boots, or a big colorful hairbow, or a fun necklace, or a super cute hat!
4. Buy classic pieces.
Jeans are a staple item of any kids wardrobe, but maybe think about nixing the pair with glitter and bedazzled pockets for a classic pair of blue jeans. You’ll be able to mix and match more, plus can dress it down for a hayride or up for a friend’s birthday party!
3. Shop for deals online.
MoxieJean is an upscale resale site that focuses on adorable baby and kid clothes. It’s the perfect site for moms who want to buy and sell high-quality, gently-used kids clothes.
The quality of the clothes is very high – each piece is hand inspected (some of my pieces even had the tags on them!). It’s a great way to maximize your Back to School budget while still dressing your kids in the latest styles.
MoxieJean offers unique, stylist-created looks from favorite brands like Gymboree, Gap, Tea Collection, Hanna Andersson, Mini Boden, Baby Lulu and Ralph Lauren, plus designer brands like Oilily, Mayoral, DKNY, Burberry, and Juicy Couture, all at 75% or more off retail prices.
MoxieJean also adds hundreds of new outfits every Monday and Thursday. Plus you can use a free postage-paid Moxie Jean Mailer Bag that is included with your order to turn your kid’s old clothes into cash or Moxie Money.
