Superhero Toy Box

One of my close friends is having a baby boy any day now. For her shower gift, she asked me to paint this old little table so she could use it as a toy box in the baby’s new room.

The theme?
SUPERHERO.
Oh yeah, challenge accepted.

painted goodwill toy boxThe first thing I did was tape off the inside of the toy box. Since I’m sure little superhero and bad guy dolls will be thrown in here, I thought paint not be the best choice for the inside. It would probably chip in no time with some a rough and tough little boy!

I hope it will fit in perfectly with baby Will’s superhero themed nursery.

There’s three different color palettes available, including The Artist, The Wild Heart and The Romantic (total of 18 new colors). This is your opportunity to bring OPI’s fashion-forward colors to life for home décor.

Distressed Old White ASCP End Tables

It was a super busy weekend but at least I got some things accomplished, including a little furniture makeover for my best friend’s house.
CHALK PAINT white end tableShe’s in the process of refreshing her family room a bit and was in desperate need of new end tables. We were seriously shopping her house and my furniture graveyard (code word for basement). At one point we had 5 different end tables sitting in the room but nothing seemed quite right.

Then we searched her basement and found two of these… Perfect shape and size for her family room. Just needed a coat of paint.

ASCP old white end tableI actually primed them a bit first, even though it’s not needed with chalk paint. Then I did two coats of Annie Sloan.

ASCP old white end tableI love this room. It kind of has a beachy feel to it with the color scheme, pillows, and accents.

Now you really can’t tell it’s distressed until you’re up close since the original color of the wood is so light. But the subtle pops of wood showing through are my favorite part.
