Painted Hallway Candle Sconces

I’m in the process of a hallway renovation. Yep, it’s about time I spruced up this space (we’ve only lived here for 7 years, but better late than never, right?).

Well I’m happy to say that the first projects on my list are now complete. The mirror that my cousin gave us for a wedding present is hung and I painted some old candle sconces to hang on either side.

So what’s next on my to do list?

  • Hang mirror
  • Paint candle sconces
  • Install wainscoting
  • Hang family photos across from mirror
  • Change out light fixture

hallway mini makeoverLet’s just hope I can find some time this weekend to start on the wall treatments. Since we live in a one story ranch, the hallway is kind of a focal point leading from the great room into the bedrooms. I’m in desperate need of anything to liven up this space!

St. Patrick’s Day Kissing Balls

Back in early January I shared my pink flowered Kissing Balls that I like to keep on my mantel throughout the year. Well the Irish in me wanted to create something similar for the upcoming holiday, so here’s my St. Patrick’s Day Kissing Balls.

st patricks day kissing ballsI gathered my supplies:

  • Fake bouquets of flowers from the Dollar Tree (10 total)
  • Two styrofoam balls
  • Scissors or wire cutters

st pattys day kissing ballsI trimmed each flower down to about a 3 inch stem. Then just start filling in the styrofoam balls with the flowers. Stick the stem straight into the foam balls and space them out a bit to let the petals and leaves hide the gaps. And that’s it!

And it seems to go perfectly with the theme “Kiss Me, I’m Irish”
