So sometimes a coat of paint is really the only thing you need to transform a room. Awhile back I designed my sun room with light couches, leather club chairs, a charcoal patterned rug, some DIY window valances… but something still felt off. I needed a punch of color so I decided to paint the walls Bottlenose Dolphin from Valspar.
And it’s simply amazing what a coat of paint can do!
The only other change to the room was the addition of an armoire to store our TV.
This piece was painted from my friend Laurie at Red Posie in St. Charles, MO. We actually bartered for it (crazy, right?). I gave her our old electric fireplace and she gave me this. Total win in my book!
The leather club chairs are from World Market, couches are from Ashley Furniture, tables we purchased on clearance from World Market, and the chandelier was another clearance find from Lowe’s. The rug is from Target, accent pillows are from Pier 1 Imports, and the valances from RLF Home online.
I love how the furniture and window treatments pop off the dark gray blue walls.
It definitely was the best decision for this room.
This room is my absolute favorite place to sit and read,
or watch the snow fall in the winter.
Plus it has access to our 1/2 acre wooded lot.
Definitely my favorite spot in the house!
