In the past couple of weeks I’ve been slowing trying to find furniture for our new home. There are a couple things that I keep going back and forth on, but one thing is for sure…

I want a farmhouse table in my dining room.

There’s just something about a beautiful, handcrafted table surrounded by chic upholstered chairs that makes my heart skip a beat.

Now I knew when we moved that I would need to replace our old dining room table. I had been using it for crafting long before I built my craft room and it was filled with dents, scratches, paint, and stains.
.
And it was close to a farmhouse style table, but a little too “finished” for my taste. I’m looking more for something with a little character and grittiness.
.
So then came the search…

I quickly realized some farmhouse tables can be pretty flipping expensive. $1200 to over $2000 from Pottery Barn? Yeah, I love you farmhouse table, but not to the extent of my kid going hungry for the next 6 months.
.
Well while researching farmhouse tables for my dining room, I stumbled across a company called Ezekiel and Stearns which happens to be local to St. Louis, my hometown.

Their prices are extremely low compared to other stores, plus they will ship your order (even custom made orders) within five business days of purchase – right to your front door.
.
Here’s a few of my favorite pieces…

I love how they have so many different style tables, plus benches to match.
And one of my absolute favorites is the Chatham Table. Seriously swoon-worthy.

.
So after I placed my order with Ezekiel and Stearns for our new dining room table we got to talking and they offered up something awesome for you guys…

If I ever have a dining room (or craft room) large enough, the first thing I’m hunting down is a farmhouse table. I’ve always loved them!! That gray-ish one is oh so pretty.

Oh, I’m totally thinking about putting one in my craft room… or breakfast room too!

I’ve never heard of them! Thanks so much for the name, I really want a table like this and I’m in St. Louis too! They have great prices.

Awesome Jenny! If you can fit the 8ft long table in your dining room, I might suggest that! Plenty of room to seat 3 chairs on the side comfortably, plus you can always squeeze in extra chairs for holidays 😉

Oh, how do you know what size to order? I want one that seats 3 on each side and one at each end. Hmmm…

      Jenny,

The rule of thumb on table sizes is 2 1/2 – 3 feet per person for comfort. That would be an 8 to 9 foot table. We custom build sizes all the time. We’re even building THIRTY 8 foot tables for a wedding in the spring. The nice thing about being local is that an 8 foot table is expensive to ship but you could either pick it up for free or we could even arrange delivery for a low fee.

Erin, I just stumbled on your blog from Refresh Restyle where she featured your self-adhesive backsplash. I not only liked the backsplash but I like that you’re a St. Louis girl. I live in Lake St. Louis so we’re not far away.

I absolutely love your new dining room table and is it correct that you purchased it from Ezekiel and Stearns? Because if you did, somehow I didn’t see it on their website. I have a perfectly wonderful dining room set but after 31 years of marriage, tastes change and I’m ready for something different! So I’m thinking if I could find something new that I like, and it’s budget-friendly, then I can approach Honey about getting rid of the old and going with new. (I’ve figured him out!) Thanks for your help and keep up the good work.

Hey, I just moved out of LSL about 8 months ago! We lived there for about 9 years but recently moved back to West County.

We did purchase the table from Ezekiel and Stearns. It’s their Yukon table. Here is a link to it:

Hope it works out for you. LOVE their tables!!
