I’ve always wanted to try out the bold new color of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Barcelona Orange.
As many of you folks know, I’m a color freak. I’m not afraid to use bright and bold pops of color throughout my home. So what better way to transform a plain old corner table (from my lovely aunt) than using my new LOVE, Barcelona Orange.
One of the best bonuses of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint is no primer needed! So I got to work and gave my corner table two coats of Barcelona Orange (except for the top of the table which I left as the natural wood). To give it some extra oomph, I lightly distressed the table and used the Annie Sloan wax!
I gave the entire table a coat of clear wax then went back and pressed in some dark wax throughout. HOLY SMOKES. Then is when the table came alive! Wanna see?
Look at that dark wax in the crevices! LOVE.
I can’t wait to get this in my dining room! I’m working on a transformation, including new drapes, some chair covers and painting my piano. It’s a BIG overtaking, but I can’t wait to show you my final vision!

This color is fabulous. The table looks so good. I’m a new Linky follower – found you through your photoshop tips at one of the parties. Thanks for the great tips.
Thanks so much Karen! Great having you here :)
I haven’t had the chance to use dark wax yet but I may be ordering some today! Your table looks amazing! Nice job!
Thank you Kimberly! The dark wax makes a HUGE difference!
When I read the title of your post I was afraid for you! But you went bold and that color is FAB on that little piece! I love that you left the top with the original look too!
Thanks Melissa! LOL. Yes, I was afraid at first too! But I’m happy with the end result!
It looks great Erin!! I haven’t gotten up the nerve to try chalk paint yet but each time you do something like this you convince me a little more :)

I love this table makeover, Erin! I’ve been wanting to use the AS paint but since it’s so pricey I wasn’t sure on what color to use or what to transform. I am loving this orange color and think it would look great in my bedroom? Did you use the sample can or did you buy the quart and how much did you use? Supposedly I heard the paint goes a long way. Great work! Jenna
Omg – just saw your first picture and realized you used the sample jar, lol. Did you have enough?
Yes! The sample pot was perfect for this small project. I used every last drop though!
I’ve never heard of chalk paint and the dark wax that you used. You’re table is amazing! Where can I find the paint and directions on how to use it? Thanks, Pam
For information on the chalk paint and a retailer near you go to http://www.anniesloanunfolded,com. We are now over 140 and growing more every day!! All over America! This paint is taking the DIY market by storm. It is fabulous as you can see. Try it!
Before I found a stockist in St. Louis, I purchased online from Shades of Amber http://shadesofamberinc.blogspot.com. They have a lot of information on how to use the paint, Q&A, etc. Hope that helps!
Girl…we need to chat a little more about this chalk paint and wax! The piece turned out INCREDIBLE!!

Oh my gosh, I love this! That color is awesome and I love that you left the top natural – really cool!
Thanks Megan!!
Love, love love the orange! I’m a big fan of orange too but have not found a great way to incorporate it into my decor. But since I recently painted my craft room a pale yellow, perhaps that is where I’ll put the pop of orange. Thanks for the inspiration! BTW, I pinned it to one of my boards!
Thanks so much Peg!
Totally crushing on the updated look – but especially the color + finish of your table!! great job! Thanks for sharing!!
xo Lynda
Thanks so much Lynda! I have a bit of a crush myself ;)
I won Barcelona Orange in one of the national giveaways and I am so excited to use it. My craft/guest room is Palladian Blue with orange accents and I am going to paint my old nightstand this. I just may have to take a break from the grueling house projects and do something fun, like paint with my chalk paint! Looks great
Good luck Christina! That color combo sounds absolutely delicious! You’ll LOVE the color. Oh my, I can’t wait to see the final room together!
This looks great! I love the bold color and I love that you left the top the natural wood. Can’t wait to see the piano!

Hi Erin, How did you get the table top so dark? Did you leave the original color?
It looks great, thanks for sharing with us all on your page!
Pam
Yep, it’s just the original color of the table!
