In between trying to ramp up my builder grade home with paint, moldings, and new family room built-ins, I’m trying to decorate for the season and make this house a little more festive. Last week I showed you guys our dining room decked out in gold, but across the hall I had a niche that needed a little love.
If you remember in my Christmas Dining Room I had some reindeers from At Home in gold. Well I found their matching buddies in silver for $10 each. They’re a little smaller than the gold ones, perfect for the top of our foyer console table.
Sitting in between the two reindeer is an old silver and white centerpiece I used in my Christmas family room from last year (it sat on our fireplace mantel).
Above the console table I hung a silver wreath I purchased from At Home for $15 (love their everyday low prices!) on a plank board that Ben and I made last weekend. I really wanted something big on that wall that I could use year-round to hang wreaths on and we came up with this solution. I’ll share more on that tomorrow.
I used a Christmas garland from last year’s staircase to drape around the plank board and hung some new silver ornaments on it.
Underneath the console I added some new baskets for storage, but other than that this was a very simple makeover for the holidays. And now I’m ready to decorate the big dog… the family room. We plan on putting up our tree this weekend (my birthday request!) so stay tuned.
