Hand Painted Fall Chip & Dip Set

I decided to take a quick break from painting my kitchen cabinets for a fun little quick project using some of the Deco Art paints I received in the mail a couple of weeks ago.

Since the Fall season is fast approaching, I decided to prepare a little Chip & Dip set using the Transparent paints (uh, football season anyone?). While Deco Art has tons of different paint options including glitter, opaque and glass stain (looks like stained glass), I kinda wanted the lighter look with the transparent paints.

I bought a simple glass plate and square bowl for $2 each from Target and prepared some Fall colored paint: red, green, orange and yellow. I painted stripes around the edges of the bowl and plate… seriously, a five minute project!

To set, I let the paint cure for 48 hours. Then I placed the plate and bowl on a cookie sheet and put in my cold oven. I heated the oven according to the package and baked for 30 minutes. Make sure you leave the oven closed when the timer goes off and let the dishware completely cool inside the oven before removing.

And that’s it! Perfect little craft to spruce up some plain glass dishware for a holiday, bridal shower or any special event. The best part? It only takes minutes to create.

For the full line of Deco Art paints and snazzy videos, painting tips and projects, check out the Deco Arts Glass Painting website. You can buy all of the Deco Art paint at Michael’s too! ENJOY.
