My parents went on vacation last weekend so while they were living it up in Colorado, I decided to give their guest bedroom a little makeover. Sound familiar? Yeah, same thing happened to their kitchen and guest bathroom a few weeks back.

Well here is what I was dealing with…

GUEST BEDROOM BEFOREFlowered burgundy bedding paired with light green walls?  Yep, makeover time.

So here’s the after…

affordable-guest-bedroom-makeoverI went with a lot of neutral colors throughout the room. The paint color is my favorite. It definitely changes tones throughout the day. Sometimes beige, sometimes gray… but I love it (Popular Gray from Sherwin Williams).

new-guest-bedroom-makeoverThe bedding I found for $40 from Ross Dress for Less. That included the shams, 3 accent pillows and bedskirt. Complete steal! The flower artwork above the bed is from Target and the accent pillow is from Kirklands.

guest bedroom accessoriesI took out the old rocking chair and replaced it with a wicker chair my mom had in her bedroom. The white really brightened up that corner.

I love the makeover, you did a great job! The accessories you chose are fantastic. Just curious if you know where the bird on the tea set came from? Very adorable!!

Lovely transformation! I love how you have successfully transformed the place. Looks so nice. The grandma tea set that you have placed beside the window is very exotic and cute.

Great job done with the makeover 😉

Beautiful! I love how you use family heirloom furniture pieces and your grandmother’s tea set. Special things make for special rooms! Found you at Met Monday.

I love the transformation. I have been looking for wall decor like you used over the bed. I have looked at Target with no luck. We’re these sold in a set or separately.

Each one sold separately. In the mirror aisle. Hope that helps!
