Whelp, I got home from Rivera Maya late on Friday night and decided it was time to actually do something to our extra room down the hall (which is currently the extra bedroom/daughter’s playroom/storage room). I kinda just looked around, felt I needed a change, and ripped down all of the wallpaper…right there, on the spot. Nope, no thinking about it. No planning. Just went to town!
OK, so now that my walls are bare and the furniture is moved out from the walls, I need to redesign. It’s like a blank canvas sitting in front of me asking to be painted. I’ve been searching on Pinterest and blogs trying to find inspiration and I think I’ve decided on a stenciled wall. Yep, might be going that route again (see here for my last stencil project).
So, here we go. Just some of my favorites from this past weekend’s search:
Hmmm… I am kinda in love with this polka dot idea. Especially if I have to convert my {someday} craft room into a nursery again in the future.
You can find the links to all of these photos on my Pinterest page by clicking here. Also, I should note that I purchased my last stencil from Cutting Edge Stencils and was 100% over the moon with the company and their products!
I’ll also be choosing wall colors this week. Thinking maybe tans, grays or yellows? Here’s the deal though… do I choose my fabrics first, like for my drapes and pillows? Or do I choose the paint and stencil first? I have some pieces of furniture I’d like to use in this room that are already painted, plus some Annie Sloan chalk paint that I would love to use as well… oh, decisions, decisions 🙂 STAY TUNED. Leave some comments if you have any ideas!

Love the stenciled walls idea! I don’t think I have the patience to do that tho.lol just my personal choice, but I would get an idea of the colors you want, and look fabric first. That way if you find a fabulous print (maybe even on sale!) And it’s a bit different than what you were first thinking of….you’ll still be able to go for it because you haven’t locked yourself in by painting ahead of time. Have fun!!

Oh these are all so gorgeous! I bought a stencil and did a wall but it didn’t look any good so I painted over it.. oh well, maybe one day I’ll try it in another room. Thanks for the inspiration though!
