If you know anything about me at all, it’s that I’m obsessed with sweets. Normally it’s anything that has to do with chocolate and peanut butter, but sometimes I crave anything funfetti. So last weekend my sister and I make some yummy funfetti cake batter dip for our Memorial Day family gathering. It would be an understatement to say it was the hit of the party.

Funfetti Cake Batter Dip

INGREDIENTS:

  • 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened, cubed
  •
1 package Funfetti cake mix
  •
½ tsp. vanilla extract
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • vanilla wafers
  • sprinkles (optional)

cake batter dip ingredients

DIRECTIONS:

In a medium bowl combine Funfetti cake mix, cream cheese, butter and vanilla. We used a hand mixer to get the process going, but you might need to use your hands to really get the ingredients combined. It will be quite thick.

You can see below the consistency (kind of like soft play-doh at this point).
Slowly beat the powdered sugar into the mix.

Scoop into a bowl and top with sprinkles.
Serve with vanilla wafers.

And if you’re going to refrigerate it overnight, just take out about 2 hours before serving.

Trust me, the kids (and adults!) will love this.
Perfect treat to satisfy your cake batter cravings!

As I come from a family who fight over who is going to lick the bowl after cake making I think this is going to be a big hit with us. Looks and sounds great.

Hi! My dad can’t eat butter. Can I substitute for other ingredients?

Sorry, I really don’t know of substitute. Maybe try a bit of shortening?

I’m not totally sure, but in my book you can’t go wrong with more cream cheese! Or greek yogurt?
