If you are looking for an amazing sweet for the holidays, then you must try my saltine chocolate toffee recipe!

Homemade saltine chocolate toffee poster.

Now we’re getting into the good stuff on Foodie Friday #foodiefriday… CHRISTMAS SWEETS. One of the things that my Mom has to absolutely, positively make each year is her easy Saltine Chocolate Toffee. Have you ever had this stuff? Trust me, it’s oh-so-good, and very hard to resist!

Plate of chocolate saltine toffee on the counter.

INGREDIENTS:

  • Saltine crackers
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 11oz. package of milk chocolate chips
  • 1 cup butter
  • Chopped pecans (optional)

Saltines, brown sugar, butter and chocolate chips on the counter.

DIRECTIONS:
Line a jelly roll pan with foil and spray with non-stick cooling spray. Line with saltine crackers.

Spraying the cookie sheet with Pam.

On your stovetop, melt the light brown sugar and butter until foamy. Pour over the crackers.

The saltines on the cookie sheet and toffee being poured over them.Spread with a large wooden spoon to coat all of the crackers.

Spreading the toffee evenly over the saltines.

Bake in the oven for 7 minutes at 350 degrees. Once removed, immediately sprinkle with chocolate chips. Let the chips soften and melt, then spread with a large baking scraper.

Spreading the chocolate over the saltines and toffee.

Top with chopped pecans (we always do half since some people don’t like nuts).

Pecans being sprinkled over the chocolate.

Refrigerate the entire jelly roll pan for about 2 hours.
Then break into pieces like peanut brittle.

Pieces of the toffee chocolate being broken and lying on top after being in the fridge.

Just to warn you, this stuff is addictive.
My mom usually has to make about 3 batches to
keep us happy through the Christmas season.

The pieces of saltine, chocolate, toffee on a plate.

Just make sure you store in an air-tight container.
You don’t want the saltines or toffee getting soft.

Up close picture of the pieces of toffee.

This is perfect for Christmas cookie exchanges.  For more Christmas recipes check out Peppermint Mocha Gooey Butter Cookie Recipe
And trust me, this will be a new holiday favorite for your own family!
