This easy to make strawberry pineapple dump cake takes little time but delivers big flavor!

Happy Friday everyone! Crazy that it’s been about a month since I’ve shared a recipe with you guys, but at least I have a really yummy one today! Strawberry Pineapple Dump Cake. I absolutely love dump cakes because they barely take any time to prepare. You basically just throw all of the ingredients in a dish and bake. Super easy!

Strawberry Pineapple Dump Cake Ingredients

  • 3 cups of sliced strawberries
  • 1 8oz. can crushed pineapple, undrained
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 2 tbsp dry strawberry gelatin
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • Whipped cream (optional)

Cake mix, strawberries in a bowl, walnuts, pineapple, butter and jello on the counter.

Directions

In a 9×9 inch square baking dish spread the crushed pineapple.
Next layer the sliced strawberries over the pineapple.
Sprinkle the dry gelatin on top of the strawberries & pineapple.

Strawberries in a clear glass cake pan.

Next scatter the dry cake mix evenly, then add the chopped walnuts.
Drizzle melted butter evenly over the top trying to wet all of the cake mix.

Cake mix, and walnuts over the strawberries in a clear glass cake pan.

Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Check on the cake to make sure there are no dry areas during baking. If there are some, drizzle a little additional melted butter. Bake an additional 10 to 15 minutes or until brown and bubbly.

Add some whipped cream to the top of the cake if you wish and sprinkle with additional walnuts.

My wife has made a variation of this dump cake by using a large can of cherry pie filling instead of the strawberries and gelatin. Everything else is the same. Our son wants this for his “birthday cake” every year and is just turning 37 on the 16th of this month.
