I’m getting a little bit of a late start to January, but I know you guys are probably in the same boat. We’re still in a slump after the holidays, right? Well now I am ready to kick 2018 into high gear and focus on getting my life organized with a 30 Days of Organization Challenge!

For this 30 Days of Organization Challenge I’m focusing on my overall household: the rooms in my house, the paperwork and bills, plus some personal items.

I hope you guys will come along with me on this 30 Days of Organization Challenge!

And the best part? You don’t need to start on any certain day of the week or even the first of the month! I kept the calendar completely blank so you can mark off the little gray boxes as you go.

Week 1 is going to be tough… not gonna lie. We’re going to concentrate the 30 Days of Organization Challenge towards the most dreaded and cluttered room in the house… the kitchen!

Week 2 of the 30 Days of Organization Challenge we will focus on some other rooms in the house, then move onto the master bedroom. We will clean out our drawers and closet. Don’t throw anything away… try to donate instead!

Week 3 of the 30 Days of Organization Challenge I will give you one day to play catch-up and focus on uncompleted tasks. C’mon… you know it will happen. Life is crazy. Then we will also focus on some personal areas like your makeup bag and your purse. Don’t need to do those? No worries. Just work ahead or take a day off! Week 3 will end with cleaning out the basement or your storage space. UGH, I know.

Week 4 of the 30 Days of Organization Challenge focuses on getting your life more organized. Create a family calendar (check out my post here for details). Also create a filing system and a bill paying system. You can check out my favorite way to organize billing here and pay off debts here.

Week 5 we will wrap up by tackling the laundry room first. For a lot of us this area might be located between the garage and kitchen, making it a huge drop zone for your family. Get organized with hooks for coats and book bags, a place to drop your keys, and a spot to kick off your shoes. On the last day of the 30 Days of Organization Challenge we will clean out the medicine cabinet. Purge old medications, and make a list of the items you need to replenish. Also make sure you have a great emergency kit with bandages, ointments, and tweezers. Need to know what to put in a kit? Check out the Red Cross website.

OK, good luck everyone on the 30 Days of Organization Challenge!
